We won’t lie, we have a reputation for execution. For getting things done. Breaking down barriers. Building teams to deliver results. The only reason we've ever achieved anything in our career so far has been because we are ‘doers’.
We want to encourage people to do more. Stop worrying about all of the options and the variables, and go for it. It’s so easy to over-think and over-analyse every possible outcome in a given situation and lose momentum entirely.
Inaction is a killer, and it’ll ruin you and your business; the rest of the world won’t wait for you. Business isn’t like an old friend that you can come back to in a few months time. Good leaders need to be opportunistic, decisive and clear in their goals.
Set a goal, decide on the direction and head for it. We’re often paralysed by the fear of the ‘what if’ scenarios and factors that we can’t control. Don’t be. Think the options through, speak to somebody you trust and then go all-in.
I’m not advising you to make stupid decisions. That should go without saying. We’re taking about decisions that at the very least have a decent chance of success, and won’t destroy you if they are wrong. If a decision has a 99% chance of failure and the potential for catastrophic results, you shouldn’t even be thinking about it.
It’s better to make a decision, learn from it and adjust course than make no decisions at all.
